Lowell Mayor Chris Moore announced he has submitted to a Computer Voice Stress Analysis and a comprehensive forensic extraction of his personal phone as part of investigations into the use of AirTags to allegedly track his movements.
The disclosures come in response to a February report alleging Moore used the tracking devices to affiliate himself with a Delaware woman. Moore has strongly denied wrongdoing, stating the allegations are a deliberate effort to discredit him and impede his service as the city’s top elected official.
Moore characterized the probe as one-sided and politically motivated. He noted that the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s CyberTipline was the only agency to launch a formal investigation based on the initial report, though authorities have not charged him with a crime.
In a public statement, Moore explained that he agreed to the forensic procedures to provide transparency. The Computer Voice Stress Analysis is a forensic method intended to detect changes in vocal pitch that may indicate stress or deception. Along with the voice stress test, investigators were granted access to extract all data from Moore’s personal mobile device to verify claims regarding digital location tracking.
As the political dynamics shift in Benton County, the scrutiny of local officials is intensifying. Elected officials in Northwest Arkansas operate under the watch of a media landscape that frequently covers city council meetings, zoning debates, and personal conduct.
Moore faces a contested re-election cycle for the mayor’s office, a race that has drawn attention from both local media and state-level political observers. He maintains that the integrity of his work in Lowell has never been in question and that the current investigation is a distraction from the fiscal needs and governance of the city.
