TheatreSquared announces 2026-27 season lineup

TheatreSquared, Fayetteville’s professional theatre company, has unveiled its lineup for the 2026-27 season, marking its 21st year of productions. The season will feature eight shows and inaugurate a new family series, starting in September 2026.

The main stage series will begin with “Fences” by August Wilson, a powerful drama exploring race and family dynamics in 1950s America. This will be followed by an adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s beloved novel “Little Women” in November. As the holiday season approaches, audiences can look forward to “Cowboys and East Indians,” a collaboration between playwrights Nina McConigley and Matthew Spangler, scheduled for November and December.

Spring will bring a comedic twist with “The 39 Steps,” adapted by Patrick Barlow from both the John Buchan novel and Alfred Hitchcock’s film. The season will conclude in June with “Eureka Day” by Jonathan Spector, a contemporary play that humorously tackles issues of community and individual beliefs in the face of a public health crisis.

This season also introduces a new family series, starting with “Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!),” which promises to deliver a humorous take on various holiday tales. The addition of a family series highlights TheatreSquared’s commitment to engaging with audiences of all ages, providing an opportunity for younger theatre-goers to experience live performance in a welcoming environment.
