Sponsored Join us for Trunk or Treat Sunday at Center Street Church of Christ

Center Street Church of Christ is turning its downtown Fayetteville lot into a candy distribution center this Sunday, October 25. From 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., the congregation at 310 W. Center St. is hosting their annual Trunk or Treat, a free event designed to give the neighborhood a safe place to burn energy before dinner.

A corner of the street for everyone

For a lot of folks in Northwest Arkansas, this is the gold standard for a family outing. It hits that specific NWA sweet spot: downtown convenience, church hospitality, and zero cost. You show up, park your car, and let the kids wander through a gauntlet of decorated trunks filled with more sugar than a vending machine in a middle school.

The folks at Center Street aren’t just handing out Snickers and twizzlers. Attendees can expect the full spread: hot dogs, popcorn, and ice cream to keep the hangry spark alive. There’s likely going to be a ring toss or a bean bag toss in the mix, plus a stash of prizes for the costumes that rise above the usual plastic vampires and ghosts that haunt every front porch in the region.

This kind of gathering is exactly what makes the downtown core feel alive when the tourists head back to the cabins. It’s practical, loud, and messy, and it’s managed by people who want to know their neighbors. Whether you are a parent looking for a break from the kitchen or someone new to town trying to find where everyone hangs out, it’s an invitation extended to the whole block.

Dressing up isn’t mandatory, but for the kids, it’s practically a requirement for wear. Grab the plastic pumpkin bucket and get ready to hear the collective “Trick or Treat” from the sidewalk by Dickson Street. It is a night where the only thing that matters is whether you have a smartie in your fist.

Getting there

It is free and open to the community, with no registration required. It’s a low-barrier entry point for anyone wanting to experience the warmth of a community block party. With the weather cooling down and leaves starting to crunch underfoot, a stroll down to Center Street offers a genuine slice of autumn in Northwest Arkansas.
