Arvest Ballpark will host a series of Scout Nights this summer, offering local Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops discounted tickets and exclusive access to the field for select Northwest Arkansas Naturals games.
The first Scout Night is scheduled for Friday, July 19, when the Naturals take on the Tulsa Drillers. Scouts attending will receive a $5 ticket discount and a postgame field pass, allowing them to walk the warning track and get up close to the action. Each scout also gets a hot dog, chips, and a drink voucher.
Look, it’s the kind of thing that makes summer in NWA feel like it’s supposed to — cheap, fun, and packed with that low-key community energy you don’t really see in bigger cities unless you’re dropping a couple hundred bucks on a family outing. Here, it’s $5 and a hot dog, and your kid’s earning a merit badge for showing up. Honestly, that’s a steal.
The event is open to all registered Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts aged 12 and older. Troops must purchase a minimum of 15 tickets to qualify for the group discount and field access. Individual scouts can also buy discounted tickets, but they won’t get the postgame field pass unless they’re part of a qualifying group.
“We’re always looking for ways to bring the community into the ballpark,” said a spokesperson for the Naturals. “Scout Nights are a great way to support local troops while giving them a fun, memorable experience that ties into their activities outside the park.”
This isn’t the first time the Naturals have partnered with local groups for themed events. Earlier this season, the team hosted Faith & Family Night and will soon auction off their Star Wars-themed jerseys as part of a ongoing promotions lineup that’s become a staple of the Double-A experience in Rogers.
Scout Nights are one of the few times during the season when fans get that behind-the-scenes access without paying for a suite or a meet-and-greet package. In a major league city, that kind of access usually costs an arm and a leg — or at least a VIP ticket and a parking fee that hits harder than a line drive. But here? It’s peanuts. Literally. And a hot dog.
The July 19 game starts at 7:05 p.m. at Arvest Ballpark in Rogers. Gates open at 6:05 p.m. Troops or scout parents interested in organizing a group outing can contact the Naturals’ group sales department for more information on booking.
For many local families, nights like these are a reminder of how affordable and accessible entertainment can be when it’s built around community. You don’t need a corporate sponsor or a five-figure budget to give kids a night they’ll remember. You just need a ballpark, a team that cares about showing up, and a group of scouts ready to earn another badge — this one for showing up, having fun, and maybe learning that teamwork isn’t just a slogan. It’s what makes stuff like this work.
