River Valley Boys & Girls Clubs receive more than $89,000 in Taco Bell Foundation grants

The River Valley Boys & Girls Clubs have landed more than $89,000 in grants from the Taco Bell Foundation, part of a broader effort by the foundation to boost youth programs across the country. The Fort Smith Boys & Girls Club alone received a $35,535 Community Grant to support its “CampusQuest” program, which aims to engage local youth in educational activities.

The funding announcement came Tuesday alongside news of a record $32 million in Community Grants distributed nationally to over 700 nonprofits, marking a 40% increase in nonprofit partnerships from the previous year. The effort highlights Taco Bell Foundation’s growing commitment to support programs that benefit young people in communities they serve.

K-MAC Enterprises, a Taco Bell franchisee operating in 10 states including Arkansas, played a big role in this local boost, contributing more than $1.4 million toward Community Grants for youth-serving organizations. In Arkansas, nearly $400,000 was distributed to 15 nonprofit groups, including those in the River Valley region.

The grant funds will directly support the Boys & Girls Clubs’ initiatives aimed at providing safe, educational, and enriching spaces for kids and teens. The “CampusQuest” program in Fort Smith, for example, focuses on academic enrichment and extracurricular activities that foster learning beyond the traditional classroom.

These kinds of grants are especially important for nonprofits that often juggle tight budgets while trying to meet community needs. The River Valley nonprofits represent a critical part of the local support network for families, especially in areas where after-school and youth development programs can be scarce.

Meanwhile, Northwest Arkansas also benefited from Taco Bell Foundation funding this year, receiving $70,000 split between two local nonprofits. This aligns with ongoing efforts to bolster youth services throughout the region.

For those who have watched the evolution of youth programs in NWA and the River Valley, the grant success reflects a broader trend of expanding investment in education and community-building resources. These dollars help keep doors open on places where kids can explore, learn, and grow during crucial developmental years.

As these Boys & Girls Clubs put the new funds to work, local families will hopefully see the positive impact in the coming months through enhanced programming and increased accessibility. For many children in Fort Smith and the surrounding River Valley, the Clubs are more than just activity centers—they are places that help build confidence and provide steady support amid challenges.
