Prairie Grove Aquatic Park hosts Soggy Doggy Pool Party

Prairie Grove will open its municipal aquatic facilities specifically for dogs this weekend. The Soggy Doggy Pool Party takes place from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 15 at the Prairie Grove Aquatic Park.

The event functions as an annual fundraiser for Friends of the Prairie Grove Pound, a local support organization for the town’s animal welfare initiatives. Attendees can expect dogs of various breeds and sizes to utilize the park’s water amenities under supervision. According to organizers, the premise of the event aligns with the operational structure of the surrounding Prairie Grove state park, offering recreational space to the community’s pet population.

The Prairie Grove Aquatic Park, situated within the larger Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park, sees varying levels of traffic throughout the summer months.
