O’Neill keynotes Project Transformation luncheon

Craig O’Neill, a familiar face and voice in Arkansas, brought his signature warmth and humor to the annual Partners in Transformation luncheon on April 14. Held at St. James United Methodist Church, the event celebrated and supported Project Transformation Arkansas, a nonprofit dedicated to nurturing young minds and empowering local communities.

The room was alive with chatter and laughter as attendees gathered to hear O’Neill, who is well-known for his decades-long career in broadcasting. As the keynote speaker, he passionately shared the importance of Project Transformation’s mission. He walked through a litany of reasons why supporting this organization matters, weaving together stories that highlighted both the challenges and triumphs of the children and families they serve.

Project Transformation Arkansas focuses on literacy and leadership development for children, particularly those from underserved communities. During the summer, they host programs that combine learning with meaningful relationships, giving young people a safe and engaging environment. Volunteers, many of them college students, play a crucial role in mentoring and supporting these children.

O’Neill’s speech was not just a call to action but a celebration of what has already been accomplished. He acknowledged the tireless efforts of volunteers and staff who dedicate their time to transforming lives. The energy in the room was palpable, with attendees nodding in agreement and applause punctuating his words.

Betty Cook, Julia Stinson, and Judy Green were among those recognized for their contributions. Their involvement serves as a reminder of the community’s collective strength when people come together with a shared purpose. The luncheon was not only a fundraising event but also a moment to honor these individuals and many others like them who give generously of their time and resources.

The luncheon underscored how essential community support is in sustaining Project Transformation’s initiatives. By the end of O’Neill’s address, the sense of commitment from the audience was clear. Conversations buzzed around tables as guests discussed how they could further engage with and support the organization.

For those inspired to contribute, volunteering with Project Transformation is a tangible way to make a difference. Similar to volunteering at Bentonville’s Samaritan Community Center, it offers a chance to directly impact the lives of young people in the area. As O’Neill emphasized, every effort counts in the journey to uplift and empower the next generation.
