After more than eight years of planning, Fayetteville-based Specialized Real Estate Group has started phase two of Markham Hill, a conservation-focused neighborhood spanning more than 100 acres of Ozark forest.
This phase of the five-phase development comprises 48 homes, including townhomes, single-family residences, and custom homesites. The first townhomes are designed by Nequette Architecture and are engineered to prioritize clean air, comfort, and energy performance—averaging 35% more efficient than typical new construction.
The city of Fayetteville has issued building permits with a combined value of $3.29 million for seven residential lots, with permits under review for nine additional lots. Construction began in January, focusing initially on infrastructure and groundwork for the townhome cluster.
Markham Hill, located near the University of Arkansas campus, has established itself as a distinctive development that integrates with the natural surroundings. The community includes trail systems, preserved green space, and sustainable design elements that reflect the Ozark environment.
Phase II expands on the neighborhood’s mix of residential options while maintaining its focus on energy-efficient design and landscape conservation.
