Jackson leads Fayetteville boys to win in Roy Hobbs Invitational

Fayetteville’s boys’ golf team took home the championship at the Roy Hobbs Invitational Monday (Aug. 17, 2026) at Springdale County Club.

Calvin Jackson hauled in individual success, carrying the team momentum through the tournament. The Fayetteville squad dominated the competition, showcasing the depth of talent growing in local high school sports.

Honestly, you don’t have to look at a stat sheet to see the vibe out there. You watch a round at Springdale County Club and it looks just like something you’d catch on the back nine at the Masters, just with more high-tops and sunburn. It’s a testament to the hustle of these kids who are grinding through the summer to get ready for the fall season. You see that level of focus at tournaments in places like Dallas or Chicago, and it’s nice to realize we’ve got this talent right here on our own soil.

Jackson put together a solid performance, with Toby Kim also competing for the Fayetteville team. The pair represents the kind of consistent drive that keeps Northwest Arkansas sports relevant on a wider stage. The Roy Hobbs Invitational is often a tough test, but seeing the Fayetteville boys on top says a lot about their preparation.

This area treats high school sports like a religion. When you see a team like Fayetteville come out swinging like this, you can tell they put in the work during those early morning practices. It’s not always about the fame—it’s about the scoreboard and the pride of wearing the school colors. You can see it in the way the bench responds when a teammate shoots a birdie.
