Free skin cancer screening event set for April 28

Hope Cancer Resources is set to host a free skin cancer screening event on Tuesday, April 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at their facility located at 5835 W. Sunset Ave. in Springdale. The event promises to be a significant opportunity for residents to prioritize their health.

The screenings will be conducted by staff from three local dermatology clinics, marking a collaborative effort to provide potentially life-saving spot checks. The event is accredited by and held in partnership with the American Academy of Dermatology Association, enhancing its credibility and reach.

Chuck Hyde, President & CEO of Hope Cancer Resources, emphasized the importance of regular screenings. “Regular skin checks can save lives, and we are proud to offer this important service to our community,” Hyde stated. His remarks underscore the role of early detection in combating skin cancer, which is particularly pertinent as the warmer months approach and outdoor activities increase.

While the event is free and open to the public, appointments are required. This ensures that each participant receives adequate attention during their screening. The requirement for appointments highlights the anticipated interest and the necessity to manage time effectively for each attendee.

Hope Cancer Resources, a nonprofit organization, is known for its commitment to providing support and education related to cancer prevention and treatment. This event aligns with their mission to enhance the health and well-being of Northwest Arkansas residents. The organization’s efforts are a reminder of the community’s resources available for proactive healthcare measures.

Skin cancer remains one of the most common forms of cancer in the United States, and early detection is crucial for effective treatment. Events like these offer a practical solution for individuals who might otherwise delay or forgo screenings due to cost or accessibility concerns. In this context, the partnership with the American Academy of Dermatology Association lends an additional layer of reassurance regarding the quality and standards of the screenings.

For those interested in attending, it’s advisable to book an appointment as soon as possible to secure a spot. This event is a testament to the collaborative spirit of the local healthcare community, aiming to improve public health outcomes through education and accessible services.
