Free hip-hop and street dance workshops coming to the Ramble

The Vibe Adult Dance company is kicking off a free series of hip-hop and street dance workshops this Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Upper Ramble in Fayetteville. Sessions will run throughout the fall, with dates set for Sept. 26, Oct. 17, and Oct. 24.

Workshops start with a brief introduction around 11 a.m., followed by about an hour-long lesson until 12:15 p.m., and cap off with a 30-minute dance party where participants can celebrate what they’ve learned. DJs and emcees Spidacrazy8 and DJ D. Sewell will provide the soundtrack, spinning tracks that fit the vibe and energy of the dance styles being taught.

The idea is simple: bring together dancers of all ages and skill levels to groove in a friendly, no-pressure environment. It’s happening at the Upper Ramble, located at 251 N. West Avenue, a key spot for events and social gatherings in Fayetteville. The Ramble’s accessibility makes it an inviting place to drop by, whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just looking to move a little.

This isn’t just another dance class. The Vibe Adult Dance’s series focuses on hip-hop and street dance styles that reflect the culture and creativity of urban movement. Workshops like these create space for self-expression, community connection, and a little bit of fun—all on your doorstep.

These sessions come at a time when Fayetteville’s arts and community spaces are steadily growing, filling out with events that highlight local talent and foster participation rather than just audience watching. It fits right alongside other local offerings that keep our city vibrant while inviting residents to get involved actively.

Upper Ramble’s location on West Avenue offers a convenient hub for anyone in Fayetteville or nearby neighborhoods to join in without having to travel far. Plus, the free admission makes it accessible for folks who want to try something new without the barrier of cost.

One of the appealing features of the workshops is the mix of instruction and casual dancing. The dedicated lesson segments ensure people pick up new moves or polish current skills. Then the dance parties give everyone room to just enjoy the music and let loose.

It’s the kind of event that can spark new hobbies or deepen appreciation for a culture that’s influential but often underrepresented in traditional arts programs. And Fayetteville, with its mix of college students, families, and longtime residents, offers a fertile ground for such cultural expressions.

Keep an eye out for The Vibe’s sessions throughout the fall, especially if you’ve walked past Upper Ramble and wondered what it’s like inside when music is playing. No need to worry about experience or fancy dance shoes—just come ready to move and have a good time with others who share the rhythm.
