Fayetteville Farmers’ Market announces new home for winter market

The Fayetteville Farmers’ Market announced it will relocate its winter market to One East Center Plaza at 1 E. Center St. on the Fayetteville square for the 2026-27 season. This move returns the market to the downtown square during the colder months, allowing it to maintain a visible presence in the city center year-round.

Traditionally operating outdoors on the Fayetteville square from April through November, the market has wintered at the Fayetteville Senior Activity and Wellness Center since the last several years. The seasonal shift inside to the Senior Center accommodated weather challenges but kept the market away from its primary downtown footprint.

By moving to One East Center Plaza for the winter months of January through March, market organizers aim to reconnect vendors and shoppers directly with the square, where foot traffic typically remains steady even in colder weather. The location is expected to provide indoor shelter while preserving the accessibility and visibility that the market enjoys during its outdoor months.

The Fayetteville Farmers’ Market serves as a significant local economic and cultural fixture, supporting regional growers and artisan producers throughout the year. Maintaining continuity with a downtown location aligns with Fayetteville’s urban development strategies promoting walkability and downtown engagement.

This announcement comes as the city continues to invest in its public spaces and community events, reinforcing the square’s role as a hub for local commerce and social activity beyond the traditional growing season.

By housing the winter market within the square’s commercial core, the market supports year-round vendor revenue opportunities while providing Fayetteville residents with steady access to locally grown and crafted goods. The move is expected to foster stronger connections between farmers, artisans, and consumers during months when winter markets often face challenges in sustaining consistent attendance.

The Fayetteville Farmers’ Market will open at the new winter location beginning in January 2027, following the traditional outdoor season concluding in November 2026. This relocation highlights ongoing efforts to balance seasonal demands with maintaining community accessibility and downtown vitality throughout all seasons.
