Fall Fayetteville Gallery Hop to visit eight local galleries Oct. 17

The Fayetteville Gallery Hop returns for another self-guided tour Saturday, Oct. 17, covering eight distinct local venues between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. The event is organized by the Fayetteville Gallery Collective and invites folks to wander through the city’s creative spaces in one day, essentially hitting up a micro-rotten-rounder of Northwest Arkansas art. Honestly, when you look at the spread of locations, it’s kind of amazing that this much independent talent exists in one mid-size city without requiring a cross-country road trip. Attendees can start wherever they please, trip downtown, or hit spots as they go, but the collective has mapped out the stops for anyone who wants a game plan. You’ve got the grit of downtown galleries—Alexander Gallery at Porter Art Warehouse and the Community Creative Center on West Spring Street—sat right next to spaces that really think outside the box. There is also Pond Gallery right in the middle of the action on Center Street, plus spots pushing art into unexpected places like Ashley Cardiel Interiors on the south side.

Looking at the full list, it’s a pretty great snapshot of what is happening in the Region right now:

  • Alexander Gallery at Porter Art Warehouse: 212 N. West Ave.
  • Community Creative Center: 505 W. Spring St.
  • Pond Gallery: 100 W. Center St. Suite 2
  • Ashley Cardiel Interiors: 7200 S. Pleasant Ridge Dr.
  • Mount Sequoyah Center: 150 N. Skyline Drive
  • Fenix Arts Gallery: 150 N. Skyline Drive
  • The Art Gallery at the NWA Mall: 4201 N. Shiloh Drive
  • Faulkner Performing Arts Center: 453 N. Garland Ave.

Seriously, if you tried to stack this kind of density and variety in a major city like Chicago or New York, you’d be leaning on your credit card way harder than you can here. The variety is what makes it work—moving from a performing arts center to an interior design showroom means you see more than just traditional paintings; you see how art impacts how people live. Support for the Fayetteville Gallery Collective keeps these hubs open and functional for local creatives trying to pay the bills while making cool stuff.
