Over on South Duncan Avenue, the rumble of construction equipment marks the beginning of Juniper, a sprawling $115 million student housing project. Nestled conveniently near the Sam M. Walton College of Business, this future residence aims to become a bustling hub for University of Arkansas students by the summer of 2028.
Endeavor Real Estate Group, based out of Austin, Texas, is spearheading this ambitious development. With four acres set aside and the land purchase finalized between late 2024 and 2025 for $9.2 million, work is well underway. When completed, the project will feature 294 units offering a total of 1,009 beds, catering to a broad spectrum of Razorback students.
The development will be hard to miss. According to the City of Fayetteville’s permits, Juniper is set to rise five stories tall, paired with a seven-story parking garage. Together, they’re valued at around $115 million. Jake Newman, a principal at Endeavor’s student living unit, expressed the company’s vision: “Endeavor sees an opportunity to serve the community by delivering an elevated living experience in a walkable location that will include rental rates and living accommodations designed to appeal to a wide range of Razorback students.”
This project is not just about adding beds; it’s about enhancing the student living experience in Fayetteville. The strategic location near the college means students will enjoy a short walk to classes, potentially easing traffic and parking woes in the area. As the university continues to grow, projects like Juniper become critical in meeting the housing demands of its expanding student body.
While 2028 may seem a ways off, the groundwork laid now is essential for future success. For a city that’s no stranger to growth and change, Juniper represents both a response to current needs and an investment in Fayetteville’s future as a dynamic college town. As the bulldozers continue their dance on South Duncan, the anticipation builds for a new chapter in student living.
