Bonnie Montgomery, Melissa Carper, Meadow Makers to play Recovery Demystified benefit Oct. 25

Bonnie Montgomery, Melissa Carper, and the local duo Meadow Makers will perform at a benefit concert supporting Recovery Demystified, a Fayetteville-based secular addiction recovery organization, on Sunday, Oct. 25. The event, called Hair of the Frog, is set to run from 5 to 9 p.m. on a farm located at 2583 E Wilcox Road in Fayetteville.

The fundraiser will feature a mix of music, food, and activities meant to raise awareness and funds for Recovery Demystified, which offers an inclusive and non-religious approach to addiction recovery. In addition to performances from these well-regarded Arkansas singer-songwriters and musicians, the event will include a picnic basket supper, an all-inclusive non-alcoholic drink bar, and a silent auction.

A unique addition to the evening will be tintype photo sessions, blending a vintage touch with the community spirit. Tickets are priced at $55, with all proceeds going to support Recovery Demystified’s mission.

This event stands out in Fayetteville’s calendar as a rare chance to enjoy local music talent and contribute to a cause focused on sober recovery outside traditional faith-based programs. Bonnie Montgomery is known across the region for her heartfelt songwriting and dynamic performances, while Melissa Carper has built a reputation for delivering soulful and introspective tunes. Meadow Makers, a local duo, adds a fresh and engaging sound to the evening’s lineup.

Recovery Demystified started in Fayetteville to fill a gap for those seeking support without a religious framework, reflecting an evolving approach in addiction treatment options throughout Northwest Arkansas. Events like Hair of the Frog underscore the expanding community resources beyond the usual 12-step programs, providing alternatives that appeal to a wider range of people struggling with addiction.

For music fans, the event is a chance to catch some of Arkansas’s finest performers in an outdoor farm setting off E Wilcox Road, away from the usual concert halls of Dickson Street or downtown Fayetteville. The choice of a farm venue adds a laid-back atmosphere fitting for an autumn evening, with autumn light fading behind the woods and rolling fields.

Hair of the Frog puts a spotlight on the musical side of Fayetteville’s vibrant creative scene while supporting an urgent public health cause. Addiction recovery remains a heavy challenge in Benton County and across Northwest Arkansas, making local efforts to diversify support especially important.

Attendees can expect not just music, but an evening designed to foster connection, reflection, and community support. The silent auction and other activities offer additional ways to engage with Recovery Demystified’s work, making it easier for those interested to contribute more than just ticket money.

Fayetteville’s arts and activism scenes have sometimes overlapped in spaces like this—places where music meets meaningful social action. Hair of the Frog follows in those footsteps, demonstrating how local artists can use their platforms for causes that reflect the realities of many in the region.
