Bentonville scores six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to beat Edmond North (Okla.) 7-3

The Bentonville Tigers staged an impressive comeback Friday evening, scoring six pivotal runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to secure a 7-3 victory over Edmond North (Okla.) during the Rogers Baseball Four-State Festival at the Tiger Athletic Complex. Trailing 2-0 after four innings, Bentonville’s determination turned the tide in front of an enthusiastic home crowd.

Coach Will McGinnis, clearly proud of his team’s resilience, said, “Our guys kept playing, and baseball games are not always won early in games. Team at bats lead to team wins. It is a great team win, and our team just finds great ways to win games. We put together great at bats and could not be more proud of our baseball team.”

The Tigers, now boasting an 8-4 record, narrowed their deficit to 2-1 before launching their decisive sixth-inning rally. The action began with Jax Trofholz hitting a double, igniting the home crowd. A wild pitch allowed Trofholz to advance to third base, setting up Braydon Meyer to drive him home with a single to right field, leveling the score. Meyer then advanced to second base as Edmond North attempted to throw out Trofholz.

Tanner Gallogly entered the game as a pinch runner for Meyer, and Evan Canode followed with a double into center field, advancing Gallogly. The Tigers’ momentum was palpable, with each play building on the last. The Bentonville lineup capitalized on their opportunities, keeping the pressure on Edmond North.

With the festival atmosphere surrounding the game, families and fans of all ages filled the stands, sharing in the thrill of the Tigers’ comeback. For parents looking to make a memorable weekend with their kids, attending local games like this offers a perfect slice of community life. There’s nothing quite like the excitement of a live baseball game, complete with cheers, the crack of the bat, and the smell of popcorn in the air.

This victory is not just a win for the team but a reminder of the vibrant community spirit in Bentonville. The Tigers’ performance exemplifies the hard work and collaboration that the city values across its schools and sports programs. As the school district continues to support its teams, the community rallies behind them, celebrating both the athletic and personal growth of its young athletes.
