Arkansas women's basketball to host Wake Forest in SEC-ACC Challenge

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas women’s basketball will host Wake Forest in the SEC-ACC Challenge on Dec. 3 at Bud Walton Arena, per an ESPN release on Friday. The game marks the first announced contest ahead of coach Kelsi Musick’s second season.

The Razorbacks own a 1-0 all-time record against the Demon Deacons. The lone previous meeting came on Nov. 27, 2020, when Arkansas defeated Wake Forest 98-82.

Musick took over the program last season and guided the Razorbacks to a 12-20 record in her debut campaign. Arkansas returns just one starter from that team: forward Emily Robinson. Redshirt freshman Aisha Hassan is the only other returning player listed on the roster.

“This is a great opportunity to test ourselves against a program from another Power Four conference,” Musick said in a release. “Wake Forest has improved each year under coach Gebbia, and we expect a competitive matchup early in the season.”

Wake Forest finished 14-18 last season under coach Megan Gebbia, who is entering her fifth year with the Demon Deacons. The team showed improvement from the previous season, winning three more games than in 2024-25.

The Dec. 3 matchup represents one of the premier non-conference games on Arkansas’ schedule. The SEC-ACC Challenge pairs schools from both conferences in head-to-head competitions across multiple sports throughout the academic year.

Musick’s roster rebuildmarks one of the more significant roster turnovers in recent program history. The departures left the coaching staff with limited returning experience heading into year two, making early-season games critical for developing chemistry.

Bud Walton Arena has hosted several high-profile women’s basketball matchups in recent years. The Razorbacks will look to build on homecourt advantage against a Wake Forest team that posted a 7-11 record on the road last season.

Tickets for the Dec. 3 game have not yet gone on sale. The full Arkansas women’s basketball schedule is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
