Drivers using West Walnut Street in Rogers should prepare for overnight lane closures starting Tuesday night as the Arkansas Department of Transportation begins resurfacing work.
Between Eighth and 45th streets, both eastbound and westbound lanes will face intermittent closures nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. These closures are expected to last through Sept. 9, weather permitting.
The work will start with the outside eastbound lane, progressing toward the inside lane. The resurfacing effort will then shift to the westbound lanes, methodically working through each lane until the entire stretch is complete.
While lanes will close temporarily, the ADOT assures motorists that travel will remain accessible in both directions during these hours. Construction cones and signage will guide drivers safely through the work zone.
This stretch of West Walnut Street connects busy parts of Rogers, including neighborhoods near the Railyard and key commercial corridors not far from S. 8th Street. With evening and overnight traffic typically lighter, ADOT’s schedule aims to minimize disruption for commuters and local businesses.
