The 37th annual Ozark Mountain Bike Festival is set to ride into action at Devil’s Den State Park from April 3-5. This beloved event, which draws biking enthusiasts from across the region, features guided rides, skills clinics, a kids’ obstacle course, and the much-anticipated “big splash” contest.
The festivities kick off with a unique opportunity—a 6-mile night ride for intermediate and advanced riders at 7:30 p.m. on April 3. Given that the park’s trails are usually off-limits after sunset, this night ride is a once-a-year chance. Participants are reminded to equip their bikes with two bright lights for safety.
On Saturday, April 4, the action continues with a series of guided rides beginning at 9:30 a.m. Riders will have the chance to tackle a 12-mile journey across the entire Monument Trail network, starting from the Devil’s Racetrack trailhead and concluding at Campground A. For the ladies, a dedicated 6-mile ride is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m., offering a supportive environment to enjoy the trails.
One of the festival’s highlights is undoubtedly the “big splash” contest, where bikers pedal at full speed into Lee Creek, creating a spectacle for onlookers. This event is a fan favorite and captures the playful spirit of the festival.
For those looking to enhance their biking skills, the festival offers clinics designed to improve technique, suitable for riders of all levels. Young adventurers can also enjoy a specially designed obstacle course, providing a fun and safe environment for kids to test their biking prowess.
All rides start from Camp Area A trailhead, and helmets are required for participation, ensuring safety is a top priority throughout the event. Whether you’re a seasoned biker or new to the sport, the Ozark Mountain Bike Festival promises a weekend of excitement and community in the scenic beauty of Devil’s Den.
